Born into the metal world in 1999 Trivium are a heavy metal band from Florida, originally noticed by German Label after recording a demo in 2003 the band quickly shot to the top of the metal world after the release of their debut album ‘Ember to Inferno’ written when front man Matt Heafy was only seventeen. They followed this album with 2005’s ‘Ascendency’ a record released to a newly reinvigorated metal scene. This album then led to them destroying Download Festival, a gig claimed by some to be their best live set to date.

Their third album ‘The Crusade’ saw Trivium slightly depart from their previous metal roots, with Matt Heafy dropping his screamed vocals and instead focussing more on his vocal training resulting in a much more streamlined sound. The release of ‘The Crusade’ further cemented their reputation as a big name in rock and led to them touring with Machine Head and Dragonforce on The Black Crusade and receiving several awards.

Whilst touring ‘The Crusade’ the band wrote their latest album ‘Shogun’, released in 2008. The album showed, the bands matured sound escaping from their links to bands such as Metallica, Heafy explained ‘For the first time, we can't look at our songs and say who the riffs sound like.’ Heafy has also reintroduced his screaming into the band’s sound adding an extra dimension to their already relentless sound.

After some reshuffling Trivium are currently touring with front man and guitarist Matt Heafy, Corey Beaulieu on guitar, Paolo Gregoletto on bass and Travis Smith drumming. Trivium never fail to deliver live, their ruthless sound on their records is only amplified when taken to the stage. Beaulieu’s guitar screams from the stage while Smith’s drumming thunders through the crowd. Mosh pits are destined to appear, people will get sweaty and people will leave wondering how four people created such an epic monstrous noise.
