+ Justin Nozuka + Rumer

Joshua Radin is a lucky man. He has had a vast proportion of the world, from the layman to the celebrity, falling in love with him; and all because of his voice. Teaming this deadly weapon with the rustic charm of an acoustic guitar, endearingly wide-eyed, uncomplicated lyrics and a brand of folk-pop so easy on the ear you won't even remember when your foot started tapping.

Joshua's youth growing up with the sounds of the 1960s and 1970s such as Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Cat Stevens are so palpable it gives his music such a level of maturity you would be forgiven for thinking that he had been recording a lot longer than the six years he's been active for. He got his break when his music was picked up by an enthused Zach Braff and used to score a scene on television show 'Scrubs'. Anyone familiar with the series will now know exactly what sound to expect from this guitar strumming chanteuse with a twinkle in his eye.

Since the release of second album 'Simple Times', things have only got better for the enrapturing artist from Ohio. Single 'I'd Rather Be With You', shimmering with Jack Johnson-esque breeziness, reached Number Two in the charts... as well as his tracks popping up on all sorts of film and television soundtracks... not to mention getting invited to perform at Ellen DeGeneres' wedding. Not a bad trip up the career ladder for a chap who just decided to pick up a guitar a few years ago.

Armed with songs like the happy ending of a film that brings tears in your eyes and a lump in your throat; Joshua Radin comes to charm the audience of Manchester Academy 1 on Sunday 17th October.
